I need help *QUICK* on how to run a .mid file through session drummer or addictive drums

I have drum .mid files of whole songs and I don't know how to get it to route through one of the drum vsts I have.  I am looking at the manual, but don't think I am searching correctly.

Can someone give me a quick run through (assume I know nothing :P )?

Tutorial #4, I believe, is about how to use a soft synth - and a drum module is a soft synth.  Tutorials are gotten to through the Help file in Sonar.  It's all explained, too much to re-write in posts.

Yah it's pretty simple really. Import the MIDI into your project however you like (you could open the MIDI file using File|Open and start there, you could drag it from Windows or from the Media Explorer).

Load up drum synth of choice, assign the MIDI track to it and blammo.

If it's not working maybe check the channel assignment of the track, which may have been set to 10 or some other number, especially if it's a GM file.

It was a bad file, I was doing it right. I went the long way: opened the drum synth and then opened the MIDI and drug the content up. Channel was set on 10 as well, but I was aware of that. The objective was real, whole song content for me and a buddy to jam to.

    Thanks :)
