Export Audio .wav file is longer duration than the exported track

I  have a project with approx 60 tracks with all but one muted out.  When I export the unmuted track, I get a .wav file of approx 8 minutes in duraction.  The original track (an imported audio file) is approx 1 minute in duration.  Can anyone shed light on how to get an exported .wav file to be the same length as the original track?

Thanks!

I believe you can select the length of the track/clip in the time line, then export. Clicking on the clip will also automatically select the proper time line for that track. If you have another track/clip selected and it defines the entire timeline, your export will also occupy the entire time line, instead of the short clip you intended to export. Just tried it so at least that's the way it works here.
