Apro compatible with XP?

I'm temporarily between computers.  While waiting for my new machine to be built, I'm doing what I can with an old XP machine.

My A-800 Pro is playing my synths, and so I'm getting so work done, but I can't make the control surface portion of the keyboard interact at all.  The manual has a section for setting the keyboard up on an XP machine, indicating it should be compatible - but I'm not having any results.

Previously I was using the Apro on a Vista 64 bit machine, worked great.

I'm working in Sonar 8.5, by the way.

The Apro comes up the way it should in the list of MIDI devices, and I can manually select it as the control surface - but the Apro control window never comes up as an option in the toolbar control surface window.  I only get the generic ACT MIDI Control Surface.

It's not too big of a deal, since I'm only temporarily on this machine.  But it would be convenient if I could get Apro to work with Sonar the way it did on my Vista machine.

Ideas?
