How I spent the other half of my past 2 weekends... and a few evenings.

I got the legs and base fit on a new cabinet shell tonight and so it seemed like cause to take a few photos. I have all the parts cut and drilled for another cabinet unit and will assemble and attach the base for it asap.

After that I will start on the facia. I already have a bunch of quarter sawn yellow pine set aside and ready to go.

I just thought I'd post some pics.

Maybe spacey will get some ideas for a guitar display cabinet. ;-)

best regards,
mike

Nice. Makes me want to drag out the tools and build something.

Yes 2 glass shelves per cabinet... and I'll have LED lights over each sections top shelf so that the light can pass through to the bottom shelf.

We're just trying to make the most of our small house by making lots of storage facilities. I thought about built-ins... but I don't want to put so much permanent futrnishing into such an old beat up house so I am trying a pair of free standing units for this wall.

It is all a warm up for our bedroom suite.

We gave up our small closet to expand our small bathroom a bit. So, I am going to build two huge wardrobe cabinets.

    :-)

    best regards,
    mike

Excellent Mike. Sure enjoy seeing your craftsmanship and project.

I have seen some very nice cabinets for guitars. Even though
they were glassed I liked them because they kept the guitars
handy and clean. "Display" just seems to be taken with "not played" it seems.
With limited time for building I think I'll use it for guitars..
