I have to share this...using a game computer keyboard in Sonar
For me, Keybindings are the way to make the workflow in Sonar really happen. Example: when I need to quantize or transpose or slide a clip it basically boils down to highlighting the clip, hit a function key, enter edit data then "enter". If you are a power user keybindings are a must. When X1 came out I struggled a lot because X1 used a lot of it's own keybindings not leaving enough room for my own personal keybindings.
Long story short...I picked up a Logitech G110 game keyboard. It has 12 extra "G" keys that can be switched thru 3 layers, basically giving it 36 extra function keys. After programming the G keys my workflow in X1 is just outstanding.
I remember reading a post by Yourolpal where paste does not ask you what kind of paste. He did not like that and I felt the same way. Well in my new keybound system, instead of contl-C to copy and contl-V to paste, I hit G1 and then G7 (they happen to sit next to each other). G7 is programmed for special paste and programmed to "slide" data as that is the most common way i use it. All my edits are set up the way I use them the most.
There is a drawback that the G keys don't always work when you are inside a view, but i have found that if you click out of the box 1st it is fine.
JUst had to share this. I'm really starting to like X1. Especially after loading a Sonarmod.
