Well not really. You could have clicked the Insert Image button and pasted the direct link URL in the box.
What sound card or audio interface are you using?
Have you turned off all programs running in the background, including virus scanners, pop-up blockers, etc? Turned off Microsoft system sounds and screen saver? Turned off all power-management schemes?
Have you tried adjusting the latency to the 'Slow' side are changing the number of buffers?
Are you using a large number of soft synths and/or effects?

Does that Samson mic happen to be a USB mic? I ask because in the first screenshot, I could see "Sampson" in the input box.... which is where I would normally expect to see an interface .... not the name of the mic.

If you are trying to use a Sampson USB, that is a BIG part of the problem. You are essentially trying to use 2 soundcards... one in the computer and one in the mic..... this will cause all sorts of issues including the problems you are having, as well as synch between the track issues later on playback.

The best advice I can offer is to return the USB mic if you just bought it, and buy a decent M-Audio (or other) USB musical interface with audio and midi inputs on it.

I had no problems couple of weeks back, not sure whats running in the background, I got  miscrosoft essentail , never use screen saver, and I don't know where power management schemes is, I can try the buffer, not sure I can adjust the latency , I m on MME  setting. Thats the only one that runs with Vista, I don't have a audio interface. Will try and find the soundcard, I even ask the cakewalk support about my sound card not in the setting, just my mic and  bose speakers. No  effects used until I'm done with my recording, I use  Reverb, and add some DB's

Hey , Guitar, I have had this mic for at least 6 to 7 months, I'm really happy with it, and the problem started recently, and Cakewalk support sees the screenshot that I sent, they are not saying anything about the mic  I'm using, I really like this mic, not that I want to though money out the door, theres gotta be a way for this to work. Yes its  a samson USB mic, and I don't have a interface with it, But I only want to sing and mix my singing and  mix in the backtrack  with it as a whole. I don't use the  cakewalk to  enter any  guitar or sounds with external componets, Thanks

Well, there is no phone support for Music Creator, only email.
How are you hearing what you record? What is listed under Options>Audio for Playback Device?

True enough, no phone support for MC. Only email.
Don't be surprised if a moderator deletes your previous post in its entirety. That is indeed confidential correspondence, and should not be published here.
That said, what you are experiencing is consistent with limited disc space. it was ok for a while, then the problems started.
So how big is your HD, and how much space is available?
Is the drive badly fragmented? Ideally, you want large, contiguous space on the drive.
Exactly what kind of computer are you working with?
If it's a laptop or notebook with a low capacity, low RPM drive, that could be the root of your problem.
Curious that you do not have WASAPI. That is a standard Vista driver mode, however it was subject to somewhat loose implementation by some manufacturers.
It is possible the computer you are using was simply not designed with the somewhat robust demands of processing audio data in mind. So, again, what is it?

do you actually think anyone except Beagle took the time to read that post? Man.... that was long.

OK so you're using a USB Sampson mic. If you insist on trying to use it....at the very least, go to the top of the forum HERE and read the sticky on setting up the Sampson USB correctly. Even if you get it set up, having two sound cards, as I mentioned earlier IS a problem ..... the two cards often have different clocks and as a result, recorded music in playback will often drift out of sync pretty seriously.

Best of luck with the USB mic.

I did, but was bored to death. Lol.

Yea, basically all any of us can tell you right now is the basic steps to preventing dropouts...

    1) Defragment your hard drive
    2) Run Disk Cleanup
    3) clear your Picture Cache Folder
    4) In program files, clear your PreFetch folder (DO NOT MAKE A HABIT OF THIS!. Once in a while it will help your system run faster, but doing it too often will cause problems and be counterproductive).
    5) Switch driver modes
    6) adjust your latency in Options>Audio
    7) Kill background programs and processes, realtime antivirus/spyware, Windows Update, etc.

Other than that, it may be a problem with your machine not having enough processing power, RAM, or your OS being instable for some reason.

I would also like to reiterate others' and my own distaste for USB mics.  Just saying.  :P

I also read it (gasp) and the advice given is sound. The only thing I will point out at this time is the following line...

While all the stuff Axl lists are good things to do, when it comes to dropouts, and other assorted clicks, pops, and noises with playback..... it usually comes down to troubles with a factory soundcard and the drivers that are running. The factory cards are not designed to handle the heavy load that Cake DAW's place on them with the massive data throughput.

Couple that with a second sound card in the form of a USB mic and the fact that the two cards can't sync-lock their clocks effectively, and you will have data getting dropped, which results in drop outs.

The solution, is to get a dedicated USB based interface running ASIO drivers. They CAN handle the massive amount of data, run softsynths, and keep it all flowing smoothly.

Hey Guys , I tried the defragmentation and  disabled  my anti virus Essentrail " and used my cakewake  and recorded a song with no drop-outs and it did show once a  5% but  only once noticed and 2 to 3% but back down to 0 , and I got through a recording finely, these ideas are working I think. I hope this will continue tho, I will post that song I sung on Song area for ya. Thanks Guys
