I had 8PE and 8.5 PE. After deinstalling 8 all my 32 bit plugins won't work

I had 8PE and 8.5 PE. After deinstalling 8 all my 32 bit plugins won't work

64 bit here.

After deinstalling Sonar 8 PE I can not use any 32 bit plugins anymore. Be it synth or effect.

They are still in the right folders.

Message: The plugin n failed to load.

Reinstalling the plug ins does not help.

What could have happened? Something with the bit bridge?!

    why did you uninstall ver 8?

    Sonar 8.5 requires sonar 8 to be installed.

    really? i read on the X1 forum that it could be deinstalled.

    apart from the 32 bit plugins Sonar 8.5.3 PE is running fine now.

    Sonar 8.5 requires Sonar 8.

    Sonar X1 doesn't require anything previously to be installed.

    in fact, Sonar 8.5 is the ONLY sonar which requires a previous version to be installed.

    whatever you think you read in the X1 forum doesn't apply to S8.5

    Ok, so you suggest reinstalling Sonar 8 again, right?

    I am downloading X1 right now, maybe I can live with "only" X1, we will see.

    actually I probably would uninstall 8.5 first, then install 8 then reinstall 8.5.

    i still wonder how i could have known not to deinstall Sonar 8 and why only the 32 bit plugins are not working anymore.
