My iLok key died!
All of a sudden I started getting an alert when I started Sonar from my Antares that it wasn't activated. To shorten the story, working with Ilok tech support it was determined my iLok key is defective. I'm doing the RMA with iLok to get it replaced. I bought it through Sweetwater (Dec 2009) which has a two year warranty, however after contacting Sweetwater they have never had one go bad before and do not have any procedure to replace the iLok's (Keep this in mind if you buy from Sweetwater). Sweetwater decided, on this case only, that I should pay whatever to iLok for replacement and then they will then reimburse me. So far it looks like $68 if iLok does not treat it as a warranty item and Sweetwater would have been better to eat the Dealer Cost for a new iLok as it's going to wind up costing them about double, let alone the customer hassle I have to go through

I had a Syncrosoft key go bad several years ago. Lost my SX3 license...

The only "good" thing is the current CD project I'm working on the singer is good enough that I won't need to fix his voice.
My next scheduled session will be OK too. It's instrumentals with a tenor banjo ensemble (grin).

I did the RMA with iLok and they replaced my original model with the new V2 key. Didn't charge me for the replacement even though it was more than 1 year old. Can't complain about the customer support/service.

Well I have the Zero Downtime Policy on my Ilok2 plus a new Ilok sitting in my desk ...
the ZDT is cheap insurance

The only thing that I use the iLok for is Antares Autotune EFX. The RMA process took a week (total), I can live without it for a week or two.

They want $30 per year for the ZDT option which is not worth it in my case.

You're scaring me Jim! I have my Eosis AirEQ (my favorite EQ!) and DeEsser, plus my Arturia Moog Modular, CS-80 and Prophet synths on one. They've been bought or something haven't they? The new software that came with the Arturia synths is now eLicenser but still works off the same hardware dongle.
