X1 Producer web-trial

I've been awaiting the web trial version of X1 producer and tried the download links I was sent according to the news posted today.

Unfortunately, none of the links worked for me!

    Hi Jerry-

I'm downloading it now. Do you mean the links you were sent were broken?

    -Susan

BTW, I'm using FF 4.01 in case it's a browser issue. Clicking the link in my email took me directly to a save dialog rather than a web page.

    Hi Susan,

No, it was my error.  The links were not highlighted in my email, so I copied and pasted incorrectly. I found the right link.  All is well.

Check the Preferences page for it, and select its output. For some reason it doesn't seem to default to hooking it up to a bus. You can either route it directly to an output or create a dedicated metronome bus for it and route it through there, which has the benefit of letting you mute and unmute that bus during playback or recording. I have mine hooked up to a MIDI pedal for quick switching.

Can we hold on to this trial as long as we don't install/register it? I can't run it on my current rig(A8V /3700+/2GB's) but want to hold onto it until I finish upgrading to an i7 rig.

    Howdy....

I just downloaded the trial version and look forward to giving it a try.
I'm still on 5.0PE so this should be a whole new experience for me.

    Just this moment finished d/l and it's 611 meg....about 20 minutes.

Good luck as we take the plunge...

    A safe weekend to everyone.

Got the links sent to me from CW. Just to be different,  the one for tutorial content is dowloading fine , but the actual X1 demo link won't work for me in either FF or IE. I copied/pasted as the links do not work directly by clicking on them, so it shouldn't be a typo error if it works for others. Any ideas anyone ?

I was gonna post the link for you but it's expired for me. Maybe submit your email again and see if they'll resend the link to you.

Hmmm......although I did d/l the trial version OK, I just went to my email from Cakewalk to d/l the tutorial (which I forgot to do yesterday) and it won't let me?
Also, tried the trial version link again and same sort of message.

I guess that is my fault for not presuming some time/expiration limitation.

Only corroborating your experience...sorry I'm no help.

EDIT: began the process again and now the tutorial is d/l fine.

You could try setting up another free email account and submit that... I'll bet that would work.

I meant like set up another email account/address through Yahoo or Hotmail. It won't cost anything. You can then submit that email address for the link.

hehe. You're probably right... the upside though is I'd neither have much to bet nor much to lose. I wonder if the link has outright expired for everyone for some reason?

    I'll BET it's on Cake's end...
