Lost the Tuner in X1
Has anyone lost the instrument tuner function in X1? It used to be in audioFX>cakewalk>tuner. Now its no where to be found. Can I load it from somewhere else? Thanks, Alan

Mine is still in the same place. Maybe you moved it or deleted it. Search your computer for cwtuner.dll or reinstall it from the dvd.

I did a search for my problem, I should have done this before I posted, sorry. Since I uninstalled sonar 8.3 Producer before installing x1, I lost the tuner. It seems x1 does not include the tuner nor Lexicon Reverb. I just reinstalled both from my 8.3 disk. I guess the next logical question is, are there any other things in the older versions of Producer that were not included in x1? Thanks again for your help. Alan

Since I uninstalled sonar 8.3 Producer before installing x1 Cakewalk and just about everyone in this forum always recommends that you don't uninstall the previous version before installing the new version. If you bought the boxed version, it should have come with a bright yellow sheet of paper with Read This First on it and it says don't uninstall your previous version. Sometimes it pays to read the instructions.

Sometimes it pays to read the instructions. Yeah but what if, like me, you get a new PC, going from 32 to 64 bit? Do you load 8.5.3 and then X1 on top of it, what about 8 and 7? I loaded X1 'clean' and that hasn't in itself caused problems apart from losing the Dim Pro and Beatscape settings (luckily I have the old settings saved elsewhere). Incidentally, I have the boxed version and there is definitely no yellow sheet of paper warning not to uninstall the previous version.

If you are installing on a new PC, there is no older version to uninstall.

anyway - it's ridiculous to *never* install an older version. Why would you want to accumulate 4,5,6 or however many versions of SONAR? What you *do* need to do, though, is be carefull when uninstalling the old version. You can do a selective uninstall - and just choose the main program files etc to uninstall. Leave all the "add on" plugins etc that you still want to use. It's certainly easier to not bother uninstalling the old versions, but ultimately it's not the *most tidy* way to do it ;-)
