Sonar 8 Crash

Hi,

I have some songs that were originally created on Sonar 8 and windows xp. I have since updated my pc to W7 and have tried to load one of these songs into Sonar, but Sonar just crashes and returns me to the desktop. I am unable to start Sonar again via the shortcut unless I restart windows.

Any advice most welcome
Rob

PS. The songs were saved to disk as cwb files

Did you run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor before doing that? Does your soundcard have 64-bit drivers, because if it doesn't it won't work.

    which soundcard are you using.

sonar crahses are typically from soundcard drivers.

The projects might use plugs that do not play nice with w7.  w7 64?

I have a computer with XP-32 and sonar. I used it to open the offending projects and remove the plugs (for me it was mostly VSC.)  And then moved the projects to the w7 computer.

Try opening the projects in safe mode. If joy, immediatly SAVE-AS to a new name.

If no joy, and no XP computer, contact support.
