Issues with sound cutting in and out X1 latest update 64wind 7 . just started

Gigabyte MB  12 Gigs 1600 ram win 7 64  Sound cards and controlers   VS700  R and C     and Real tech  hD audio card for WMP   UAD Quad card . 
No previous issues like this .
History:  I had been tracking as project for the past week no midi no samples. Every thing working great. 24/9600   X164 b and latest fixes installed prior to starting the project.  I performed a rough bounce to tracks to stereo and this also sounded fine.
I then exported the stereo rough mix to my desk top and with dither  to 16 bit as a WAVE file to Desk top, Still no problems.
Converted this wave file to MP3 to Email to my writing partner for some advice re drum mix.
I checked out mp3 file prior to sending and it was cutting in and out  and the output lights on the vs700R were on and off in sequence.
Tried the wave file , it was now cutting in and out . opened entire project deleted mix down track and project was cutting in and out.
Reset vs700R  did cold boot with computer, still all audio cutting in and out. X1 lost detection of vs 700c so I had to place this back in midi devices. rebooted only way to get my x1 audio stable was to up buffers to full which I never had to do before. Windows media player still screwed . 
Reinstalled audio drivers tried ever thing I can think of . it just happened out of the blue! Anyone have this happen or have any advice?

Have you tried playing the project on another device other than the computer(eg cd player) to see if the file actually is corrupt.

Sounds like it may be bad ram.  Either do a memtest of try removing one card of ram at a time to see if that is the problem.

 I will give this a try The only thing is I keep getting messages about Win media player not working thus 'Im wondering if it is a windows software glitch?
