Producer on a wire ...

Hi.
A producer I work with is moving to another city and we want to keep working. I can give her a studio headphone feed  over Skype and that works - when it works! But Skype is unreliable as all hell where I am and I'm wondering if there is anything out there which offers better quality and reliability - and you've actually tested. What I want is a kind of internet talk-back.
Any thoughts?

    maybe something like msn messenger, or one of its competitors...such as GTalk...?
