Which Version Of Windows 7 should I get?

I am currently running Sonar X1 32bit under XP 64.  I am having problems with the MSI installer and will have to reinstall windows.  So I figured now is as good a time as any to upgrade to windows 7.  I know I want the 64 bit version, but which one, home, pro, or ultimate?  Any info would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Oh, and I want to start using Sonar X1, 64 bit after this upgrade.  Thanks in advance

I upgraded (that is to say performed a clean install) to Windows 7 Home 64 bit earlier this year.  It's been running smoothly for me.  I bought the OEM version which saved me about $50.

The added features in Professional and Ultimate weren't worth the added cost for me.

Go with Home ... the Pro version adds support for networking in businesses and Ultimate just adds the Bitlocker feature, which if that doesn't appeal to you, then the Home will do just fine

Win 7 home premium - supports up to 16GB mem, do not have to tweak much, due to less enterprise functionality, which is not required in DAW. Since the max memory in common desktop is 4GB modules (x4), this version is just nice.

Win 7 pro - supports up to 192 GB mem (no motherboard currently do) ..but you probably only want this if you are using intel high end processor (socket 1366) where most motherboard supports up to 24 GB mem.. or
for common desktop system for a total of 32GB mem, ..but.. only when manufacturer starts producing 8GB (x4) modules.

It also depends on your existig system and how much memory max you currently / are planning to have.

Same. I'm using Home premium (I bought the 3 pack for $150). Works like a champ.

One more thing, is there anywhere I can purchase and download windows 7?  By the time I get off tonight, nothing will be open, and I would like to start this install tonight.

Just saw that, for some reason I never even thought of buying directly from Microsoft.  Thanks
