volume envelopes

Not sure If I accidentally hit something, but the option to insert volume envelopes is missing when right clicking on the track and selecting that option from the menu.  I know in 8.0 that's all you had to do, but in X1, where is it located?

You need to use the track's Edit Filter Control. Every track has one and it looks like a button with the word Clips on it. Click that and choose Automation to add an envelope to the track.

If I want to work on gain on a clip and the gain envelope is there, I just hold shift and click. If it is not yet showing, I have to use the drop-down menu.  The old right-click was useful.

Scott, is there a way to bind shortcut to insert an envelope?
Not sure if that is possible. I know the concept has changed in X1, in that we are not really inserting an envelope, but just choosing which automation to modify.

No, but I forgot to mention... you can also just press T to bring up the Tools HUD and then use the Edit Filter Control there. It's much easier than having to move your mouse all the way over to the left to the track pane.
