Problems Using Sonar Home Studio 7

Hi all,

So whenever I try to play a file through my software the following message appears:

"Unable to open audio record device. Device may not support the current project's audio format or may be in use."

I checked my audio drivers and they seem to be ok. The driver mode is set to WDM/KS, and I have 4 drivers checked off in the Input Field, and 2 checked off in the Output field....Does anyone have an idea of what I'm doing wrong?

Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated....I'm a novice when it comes to technology....lol

    Welcome to the forum.
Some info on your system will help; what's the operating system? How fast and how much RAM does the computer have? What's the sound card?
What type of file are you trying to play? Audio or MIDI?
Did you download and install the SHS 7 update(s)?

I am selling my MIM Fender Stratocaster HSS, red and black. PM for more details.

Music Creator 2003, MC Pro 24, SONAR Home Studio 6 XL, SONAR  X3e, CbB, Focusrite Saffire, not enough space.
    Everything is better with pie.

"Did you download and install the SHS 7 update(s)?"

    That's important.

That error message often means your soundcard and SONAR are set to different sample rate and bit depth.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.
