LET THERE BE ROCK

Warner Home Video has confirmed a July 25th UK release date for the Blu-ray, DVD release of LET THERE BE ROCK.

The North American release date is set for June 7th and will also be available in a 30th Anniversary Collector's Tin.

The release documents AC/DC's 1979 Paris concert during the Australian heavy metal band's Highway To Hell tour. Interview segments and humorous backstage footage show another side to the musicians, especially AC/DC's flamboyant lead singer Bon Scott, who died two months after this filmed concert.

The tracklisting is as follows: 'Live Wire' 'Shot Down in Flames' 'Hell Ain't a Bad Place to Be' 'Sin City' 'Walk All over You' 'Bad Boy Boogie' 'The Jack' 'Highway to Hell' 'Girls Got Rhythm' 'High Voltage' 'Whole Lotta Rosie' 'Rocker' 'Let There Be Rock'.

I saw AC/DC in Florida, Nov 5 1983.  I went with a couple of people from work who wanted to see I believe it was Def Leppard, but they cancelled. I wasn't all that familiar with AC/DC but a friend of ours worked security and moved us to really good seats closer to the stage. They were also located right next to the speakers.

A band called Fastway opened up the show. I recognized the drummer from Humble Pie... Jerry Shirley. The band was really good. ...

When AC/DC came on the stage, sound level bumped up quite a few notches to almost intolerable. Needless to say by the end of the evening it was pretty darn loud... but the clincher was their final song.  For those about to Rock ... When those cannons went off my eardrums just about split open.. I couldn't hear for about a week.

I'll be looking out to buy that.
I saw ACDC around '91, and was in awe at their performance.  I didn't lose my hearing, just my voice.  I smoked 3 packs of cigarettes that day/evening...

I also have a few electro-only music fans (oxymoron, i know...) who got free tickets to their last tour and were ACDC fans by the time they left.
