MTC not recognized by SONAR X1 on Windows 7 PC.

Well this used to work fine on my old computer - syncing my digital recorder as a master to the computer using smte/mtc.
Now on my new HP Windows 7 computer (64-bit I believe), I start the sequencer and it does not wait for an MTC signal from the recorder, and when I go back to my project preferences, the option has switched back to Internal from SMTE/MTC!
I need to sync again!  Any ideas? Thanks.

I tried it and it works for me. Just went to Preferences-Project-Clock and selected SMPTE/MTC. Then I armed a MIDI track and pressed the record button and it gave me a message "Waiting for 30 FPS timecode." Did you get that far. What is your MIDI interface? Is it working with the new 64-bit OS?

What I am doing is using my Roland 16-track recorder as a master to the computer (Sonar) slave, and recording midi tracks from Sonar to the recorder, in sync.  I've done this before on my previous computers.  I select the SMPTE/MTC in Sonar, and normally when I start the song, it says it's waiting for such & such timecode (from the recorder).  However, what happens now is that not only does it not wait, but when I go back to the clock preferences, it's gone back to "Internal" !  Weird!
My computer is HP - Windows 7 - 64 bit.
    Sonar X1 Studio.
    Cakewalk UM-2G MIDI interface.

Well somehow it seems to work - usually when I start the master device & Sonar pops a message saying it's receiving SMPTE/MTC, & do I want to switch the setting to that...I click YES and it's all synced & working.
That's the only way I can get it to work...but, it does work!
