Enter notes by note or by cord software

Looking for a very simple freeware where I can enter a note or a chord and sometimes two notes with out using my synthesizer for creating a basic midi file.

I assume this is related to you other post here http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=2318577

As mentioned in my latest response there If you have Sonar its pretty easy to do this using your mouse in Sonar's PRV (Piano Roll View) or in Staff View.

If you want something free / cheap a search on KVR came up with this http://www.kvraudio.com/get/833.html It appears to have similar entry features to Sonar. It says.

You can create music with various ways such as real-time recording, step
recording and editing with just using a mouse!
You can edit music just as you want by using four kinds of windows ; Track,
Piano Roll, Score Roll, Event List and Mixer.

You do know you can enter notes by mouse in either PRV (Piano roll view) or Staff view don't you?

I use staff view all the time to edit midi, and when necessary I add notes manually that same way.

No other way to add notes is as easy as using a musical keyboard however.

    Something like this perhaps?

    a free tool is here

Although as Herb says it ends up being quicker and easier in the end using your fingers and a keyboard, that may sound far-fetched to you just now but keep at it and you may surprise yourself in a fairly short time.

Many guys round here use BIAB too and if you pick it up at the right time of year the basic version is very cheap for what it does which for most of us that do use it, is prototype progressions rather than produce any final output with it.
