Quadrophenia Remastered

Pete Townsend and company are working on remastering Quadrophenia--several versions including surround.  There's talk of a Quad tour to support a CD/DVD re-release.

That was a pretty decent LP for sure.... from a band with so many great LP's.

Sounds like another yet album I'll have to buy - AGAIN.

In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

Lot's of good and great songs and--while the whole band played and sang well; I was particularly impressed with Townsehend's orchestration of the synthesizers.  I believe they were pretty much done one or two notes at a time with a limited number of tracks to record on.  Mostly on an Arp 2600--if I remember correctly.

Exciting news indeed.  The surround remix of Tommy was sensational and I like the music from Quadrophenia even better.

It might be the thing that gets me to invest in a surround system.
