Auditioning Single Drums

If I don't like a particular drum in a kit—the snare, for example—I have to keep loading snares in one by one to find one I like.  How does one audition single drums?

    Are we talking SD3 here?

If you're using X1 you can open the broiwser and find the drum patchs and audition them there before loading them.

I was just about to post the same question.  Auditioning drum sounds in SD3 is a pain.  I tried using the media browser too but it wouldn't play the .flac files.  Is there another file to auditition from?  ...or am I just doing something wrong?

Craig, Yes, sorry, I was referring to SD3.  I was not able to use the Browser to find individual drum hits.  Maybe I am doing something wrong, but I couldn't get those to show up in the Browser.

I almost always want a different kick/snare combination than what is matched in the kits, and I often add a couple of thin splash cymbals to the pads.

I think there is no option other than loading and auditioning.  I really like S3 for its Sonar compatibility, but for serious drumming, there are other choices that offer more options!
