x1B MIDI NOT WORKING (SOLVED)

  I open X1 and play a midi tune and I gets NUTIN.  I open Sonar 8.5 and play the same midi tune and all is well.  Didn't change nothing.  Try it with X1 again and still gets nutin.  I got people coming in from Jacksonville, Florida to record.  Boy are they gonna be impressed.  What's up wit X1?
 
This problem has been solved.  X1 automatically assigned each midi channel to channel one for every track's midi output.  So I had to go in and remap them.   It was simple and easy to do but I was surprised that when I changed a midi channel I had to go back in to the same track again and undo the midi channel assignment X1B made to channel one.  It should be automatic that if I change the midi channel number it should undo the default of one.   Thanks to all who provided assistence.

    It's only a problem with MIDI tracks (audio plays fine in both)? What's your sound source -- softsynth or hardware? MIDI works fine here (X1 demo). Could use a little more info...

    Well, they for sure won't be impressed if you are just now pulling out X1 without a shake down.  Impress them with 8.5.
    You can't just open up X1 and play a midi tune.  What VST are you using for sound.  Please don't say Windows Wave Table!

    Is that just your controller, or is it an external synth?

    I use midi every day with no problems here.  Can you please be a little clearer on the soundsource- hardware keyboard doesn't tell me alot.
