EZ Drummer not available as plugin

Newbie here, just installed Sonar X1 Producer a few days back. EZ Drummer is not showing up in my plugins. How do I refresh plugins? Although EZD was installed before I installed Sonar X1 Producer and should be available. I've looked through all VSTs and soft synths but it is not here. Thanks.

If X1 was installed first, then EZ would have found the VST folder and installed there.
But since you did it in reverse, you need to find the EZ Drummer DLL and add it to the list of folders in the X1 VST Scan so it can add it.

1: Locate the DLL for EZ Drummer (make note of the folder)
    2: Open X1
3: Open Preferences (P) and go to "File > VST Settings"
4: Add the folder (from step 1) to the VST Scan Folder list
    5: Scan the VST Folders

    That should do it.

Don't fix it in the mix ... Fix it in the take!

Yes and if that does not work in the VST manager 'click' "reset all"  and then perform a scan.

codamedia, thanks for the reply. In my post I had stated that EZD was installed prior to installing Sonar. But I have it working now thanks to you and how to refresh the plugins (after moving the DLL).

But now I have no sound. I installed a new midi and audio track (tried both), put the plugin in the FX slot, previewed in EZD plugin with sound, moved my selection into the track and no sound. Have my sound card selected and another track is working fine so I haven't a clue. Thanks.

which version of sonar are you running? if 64bit, then you need to make sure and update your EZD from toontrack to the latest version otherwise you will not get the samples to load correctly in EZD.

OK, I called support and I needed to go to Insert|Softsynth|Toontrack|64bit| and check 'Synth Property Page' and got it to working for drag and drop. Thanks for the replies (I'll be back).
