Yea, I was going to say the SOS article.

I think there was something in Mix a year or so ago, too, but I wouldn't swear to it.

I own a set or NS10M's so this was a great article, thanks. All is so true about mixing with these legendary speakers. I bought mine in about 1995. I'm very careful with them now they are priceless. Anybody have thoughts on what would replace them?? I thought Yamaha came out with a replacement. I guess I should order replacement drivers before they run out of stock. There was a just one for sale in the pawn shop but he wanted $300 for it so I passed it by.

I thought Yammy's official reason for discontinuing the NS10 was that the type of paper pulp used for the drivers was no longer available. How come they're still able to make replacement drivers?

Everyone knows that the HS series of active monitors are nothing like NS-10s. Why don't Yamaha then make NS-10M reissue models? They could probably sell them for $2000 a pair (I wouldn't buy them though, but I bet many would)!

I think in the end of the article when he covers that topic he hit the nail on the head, profit! Yamaha is now run by accountants and not by audio people as in the past. They have brought nothing new to the table for a long time and some of the consumer mixers are a embarrassment the the brand name.
I power mine with a P2100  the perfect match! That amp was on the road for+ 25 years before I stole it off my bass player friend. I won't give it back. I have a lot of Yamaha, Roland, Fender gear that seems to never die.
