Sonar X1 Pro hangs when importing a Sonar 8.5.3 *.cwb file.

Does the audio driver type need to match in Sonar 8.5.3 and Sonar X1 Pro installations when exporting and importing a *.cwb file? Currently, machine1 is running Sonar 8.5.3 Pro under Win XP x86 and using WDM drivers, machine2 is running Sonar X1 Pro under Win 7 Pro x64 and using ASIO drivers. When we try and import the *.cwb file from machine1 into machine2, Sonar X1 Pro hangs (not responding).
Does a *.cwb file carry any driver setup information along with it, or is there some other likely cause for Sonar X1 Pro hanging with this export/import?
Many thanks

Have you tried to open the bundle using the same system you created it with?
If it opens there, copy the project folder over to the new system.

Since the release of Windows Vista, the Message "XXXX has stopped responding" is pretty much meaningless.  I get that message quite frequently even though everything is fine.  Sonar is just loading a large project from the disk.  In your case Sonar must unpack the project, recreated the directory structure, then load the project, audio, effects, instruments, and instrument samples.

Have you let the system sit for a while and see what happens?

Thank you for the two very helpful suggestions, yes it might well be down to impatience, it’s 138Mbyte of compacted data after all. If waiting doesn't fix it, I will try opening the *.cwb file on machine1, as this was the machine on which it was originally created, and then copy the project folder across to machine2 as suggested.
    Many thanks

Unfortunately, neither of your very helpful suggestions directly fixed the problem. I was able to import the *cwp project file, from the *.cwb bundle onto machine1 (Sonar 8.5.3 x86, Win XP x86 SP3). However, I was only able to transfer this *.cwp project file to machine 2 (Sonar X1b x64, Win 7 x64) by deleting the audio buses associated with the Garritan Aria Player Multi VST softsynth instantiation. I did not have to remove the softsynth from the Synth Rack. I have no idea whether the problem is specific to the Aria Player Multi x86 VST, and I am certainly not laying the blame at Plouge’s door. I have only posted this as it might help someone else should they experience the same problem.
