V-Vocal stopped processing at previous punch in point

I used the Punch Recording module in X1 to re-record part of a vocal track.  Then I applied V-Vocal to the track.  But when it got to the first Punch-in point I had previously set to do the Punch recording, it stopped processing the track.

Why would this happen?  Was there something else I was supposed to do before using V-Vocal on the track?  I notice that there are vertical lines at the Punch-in and Punch-out points that I had designated.
Do I need to apply V-Vocal mutiple times if there are former punch points showing in the track?

What to do?  Thanks.

The lines that you see are clip boundaries. The clips can be more easily seen if you select that track and then use the menu item "layers->show layers". If there are still overlapping layers, use "layers->rebuild layers".

Vvocal works on one clip at a time.  Some people prefer using Vvocal on smaller clips. But if you want, you can recombine the clips into one clip by selecting them and using "clips->bounce to clips".

Thanks, that explains it.  So I think the answer to my last question is yes, I need to use V-Vocal multiple times, once for each clip that has been demarcated.  I think I'll do this, and not bother with separating layers.

I wonder if it would be easier, next time, to process with V-Vocal first on the whole track, and then do what punch recording is needed.  Of course, I might still need to use a little V-Vocal on those re-recorded parts.

Next time, select all the clips, right-click and select "bounce to clip(s)". This will merge all the clips into one clip.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.
