subwoofer matching

Also, since I'm running out of my Delta card with a RCA pair to my two speakers....what solution is available to route a sub woofer inline with it??? Maybe splitters on both the L/R main outs? one to left speaker, one to left sub in...vise versa...obviously one physical sub woofer with a stereo unbalanced RCA input. did i just solve this problem by the end of me typing it???? hmmmm...

try this sub. Polk Audio  I bought this one for my studio when the price was about $199 or so. I forget the exact price.  You should be able to find it for a decent price with just a bit of searching the net stores. Polk audio makes some decent speakers.

I have it in black with a metal speaker grill. I am very satisfied with it's performance.

I use Mackie MR-5 monitors and when I added this Polk sub it made a huge difference. I run all my speakers including the sub at about half power.

Unless you have some really high end boutique matched monitors, I think most decent subs will do a good job for you.

I run my sub from one of my Focusrite outputs. It can rattle your teeth if you want it to.

I use Alesis M1 Active MKII's, but I don't think I'd want a subwoofer when I mix...  Now adding one from the SUB outputs on my Mackie mixer for play back is something I'd like (if I end up living somewhere that can tolerate bass that is).

I do mix with the sub turned on,  then I turn it off and listen, and, I check the mix on headphones too.

I figure if I can get it sounding reasonable in all 3 scenarios, it should sound good on most of the playback systems it will ever hit.
