How Sonar Can Totally Trump The Competition......
Make everything in the GUI scalable.
IOW when I increase/decrease the size of the mixer, the fonts, controls etc also get bigger or smaller.
IMHO the biggest problem with DAW programs today is that everything is minuscule.
You can't read the darn screen no matter how large your monitors are and in fact sometimes larger is worse because the native resolution of the LCD comes into play.
And if you place the monitors real close, you end up obstructing the audio monitors :)
I can't be the only 51yo person having this problem.....
I'm not a programmer so I don't know if this is possible, but IMHO this would be a HUGE advantage for Sonar.
Just a thought for the Cake programmers to consider.

Well... as a software engineer, I'll tell you it's a little harder than just wishing and typing out the request  btw, running a LCD monitor (for the most part) at anything less than it's max resolution will only make it more fuzzy. It's just the nature of the beast. Personally, I cannot have enough vidoe real estate. So, I push everything to the max. Good luck.

It might be harder, but it is doable. Not to mention the dreaded "R" word but Reaper's UI totally scalable and just makes all these "too big!" "too small!" conversations completely moot.

There is a program for that. AI squared has a program called, "Zoomtext". It's rather expensive and tageted at low vision customers like myself. There is a version that just zooms for around $50. There is still a problem though. I can't use Zoomtext with Sonar X1. When you go to adjust a fader or a knob, the screen starts jumping around everywhere. Neither Cakewalk or AI Squared seem interested in fixing the problem. Personally, I think it's Cakewalk's fault because it works just fine in previous versions. I'm not saying that being able to resize a few things wouldn't be nice but X1's GUI feel huge to me already.

I am also 51, soon to turn 52. I am a DAW user and have been using SONAR for years.
I used to sit close to the monitors and squint a lot.
Now I use a 46" LCD and setup the distance so I can see the best possible.
It's all I can do for now and it works for me, sort of, still have to squint at a few things . . .
