[HELP!!] Old projetcts don't open

Guys,

I upgraded my pc, my kontakt and moved from to 8.5 to x1 and now all the projects with non-freezed tracks don't open. I usually save lots of versions of the same song... but only the freezed versions open.

What should I do??

    Are they specifically Kontakt projects that won't open? Do you get an error message when you try to open them? If so, what does it say?


    All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

    Hi bitflipper!

    No messages, sonar just freezes. All my songs contain kontakt. There are some other vsti too... algong with some audio.

    It doesn't happen with projects created with the new config. And now???

    Please HELP!!!!

    Open it in safe mode and when it ask, disable Contact.

    Also, does your backup do the same thing (not different versions, but an actual backup on another hard drive)

    Open it in safe mode and when it ask, disable Contact.

    Also, does your backup do the same thing (not different versions, but an actual backup on another hard drive)

    Hi CJaysMusic!! Thanks for the tip... the projects opened! It turned out that kontakt's dll 64 bits versions were not in the correct vst folder. But shouldn't X1 be able to use 32 bits version of kontakt?? And shouldn't it be able to open the projects even if the plugins are not avaliabe??

    Anyways.. now I'm gonna install other vstis also... in order to be able to open all my songs.

    By the way, in this new config (new pc and x1) I also noticed Nectar and Ozone from IZotope are much more CPU consuming. What should I do??

    I had all sorts of issues with Kontakt till I did a batch re-save. I still have occasional random lockups loading even tiny instruments into a new X1-hosted Kontakt project. Not sure what's afoot here, but it makes me very nervous.
