key change problems

Have a piece (midi) where there are lots of meter changes. Transposed the whole thing up half step. Changed the starting key signature BUT every time there is a meter change it reverts back to the original key signature. That means I have to step through and change the key signature every time the meter changes. Isn't there some way to just change the key signature once?

As far as I know, every time you insert a meter change, it inserts a key change, too. So every time you insert a meter change you have to make sure it is also inserting the right key. If not, it will go back to the default key of C Major.

You can use the Meter/Key view to change the properties of a meter/key change already entered.

That's what I thought. Too bad. It means you can't easily transpose anything with a lot of one but not the other. They should be separate tools.

Yeah, it was a pretty dumb idea to bind those two together. There might be a way to get around that by using the Key transpose feature in the Midi track's properties. That way you could adjust the notation and the key signature from C. You could just leave the key as C when changing meters and then transpose and change the key signature later.

Although, since this would have to be done on each Midi track I don't know if it would be any easier than changing the Key in the meter/Key view.
