Does Mackie control surface have a capture mode?

I am the proud new owner of a Yamaha Motif XS8. The Motif manual says to add a Mackie control surface in Sonar and set the MIDI ports accordingly. All is working just fine, but one thing is bugging me.

Using an ACT MIDI controller with my old Axiom, I could set the "Capture Mode" to Latch on the options tab in the controller properties. With the Mackie contoller it works the same as the jump capture mode in the ACT controller, but I really prefer latch mode. I do not see anything on the Mackie controller properties window that is similar to capture mode.

So it is not possible to change the behavior of the Mackie controller?
