I installed the Flash Player beta for IE9 64bit, and it works well, but I am still getting the hangs with this forum software. Just tried the compatibility settings deal, and I will see if that makes any difference with my next post.

OK, my experience is the same as Guitarpima's. IE9/IE964bit still hangs, even though I have the "display all websites in compatibility view" option enabled. All rats. The longer I stay on a page or the longer I take to make a post, the more the page hangs, and sometimes it hangs so long I just have to use the recover feature or I get the message that Cakewalk.com is not responding, and I have to choose the "close program" option to get control of the page again.

Only thing that works is Firefox 3.6.16. Tried Firefox 4 and it didn't play nice with the forum software either. FF is trying to be like everyone else now with FF4. I'm running Firefox 5? no problems other than the lack of interesting threads?

Yes, I still get lots of hangs, well, more like long delays. For example, when I reply to a post here, IE9 shows it's 'still working on it' for over a minute, although if I open another instance and go to the forum my post is actually already there. The first instance then catches up a bit later. Often, if I click on a link or select a Favourite it starts trying to work but looks like it's having trouble; but if I click on the link or favourite again it works. Pretty duff product really.

I just have to use the recover feature or I get the message that Cakewalk.com is not responding, and I have to choose the "close program" option to get control of the page again That is what it always did with me except I don't remember having to close program... but everytime I would post something the forum would be "not responding" I would have recover and that would post the message. It is just more aggrivation than I am willing to put up with when ie8 64 works flawlessly. Julien

I notice more and more "Whoops, duplicate" posts on the forum. I'm sure this is due to IE9. When I finish this post and click 'Post Message' IE9 will hang and I might think of clicking 'Post Message' again, but what I now do is open another instance of IE9 and check - my new post is always there straight away but the first instance of IE9 is still sitting frozen... waiting for me to click post... aargg.

I guess the choice is whether to stick with IE8 or go to IE9. This forum works with IE8 pretty well but not IE9. This is the ONLY forum where there is a problem for me and I suspect everyone else. Maybe very FEW people can get the forum working properly.

Here, IE9 works great on 2 machines. On a third it is not usable. What I want to know is what is the popup that is blocked for nearly every message thread? Been happening for years. J

Yup ... posting problem is fixed for me. But I am still getting hangs leaving a thread if I've been on the page for more than a couple of mins. I just click on the refresh button and things move on. I was seeing this in some other forums when I upgraded to IE9 but thought it was the forum software but then I noticed on the Line 6 forum similar problems and I think they use different host packages. Cheers, jayson --- edit ... just hung posting the above ... time to try a new browser!

I think I might have found a work around for IE 9 and Cakewalk forums. In the bottom right hand corner of IE 9 is a "Change zoom level" drop down box. When I set it to 100%, no freezes when reading or posting. Anything else and the forum slows down. Love to know if this works for others. Cheers, jayson

I tried ie9 twice and both times I rolled back to 8 because of the same thing. A hang, refresh and then the post would show up posted... I dont like that and I dont need it and ain't gonna put up with it. Dang, I didn't realize this was an old thread and I was goin to edit my post... I clicked on a post from the past, up the page, and it confused me... I though, "I didn't post that, what is going on here?" Then I realized it is an old thread... now I don't remember what I was going to edit... I guess it was that ie8 works just fine for me, I would like to upgrade to 9 but if it hangs up on my favorite forum, that is a deal breaker. This should not be hard to fix. I wonder if anyone has sent a message to the webmaster... usually a link at the bottome of the page and usually someone not associated with the company... a subkoncackter subcracker subcontractor. J

Got an answer from ASP... This is the whole email. I tried to send you a PM Oldpal but kept geting a 500 error.... anyway, here is the whole thing: Hi Julien, Thanks for your email first. Our software does work with IE9, but it needs a bit of tweak. Version 3.5 as being used on the cakewalk forum is a bit old so they will have to do this manually (in the latest version this feature is available in the control panel): http://www.aspplayground....?m=401249&high=IE9 Let me know if you have other questions.
