(Un-Zoom Returns to Left edge Of Screen) Sorry... Should have been open-close PRV issue

Does this bother anyone but me?

Everytime I zoom and unzoom, I must re-center the cursor. Instead of remaining where it was onscreen or centered, it always moves the play cursor to the left edge of the window and I'm forced to re-center it...

what a PITA! (Not new to X)

I'm sorry... I explained this wrong...

This relates to midi tracks and the prv open/close... Not zoom...

If I center my play cursor on a midi clip and center it in the window...
    Double click to open prv
all is well my image is centered where my play cursor was situatied
then I close the prv and what happens?
My play cursor is no longer centered, but moved to the left edge of the screen....

I'm constantly forced to re-center the locator (play cursor) everytime I repeat this process (which I do often while editing midi tracks...

Are you pressing any keys while opening and closing PRV or just using the mouse?

No... I'm not pressing any keys.... and there are some occassions when this happens with zoom as well as the prv window change... Hence my original post...

I haven't been able to define it any better, but I did experience it again today with zoom...

BTW... This is related to a topic known to cakewalk. They have set it so that a certain portion of time prior to the location is set for this operation instead of centering.... and I'm feeling very uncomfortable with the decision (as I said years ago when it was discussed)... I'm trying to remember why they thought it a good idea....

I don't know what that will do... this isn't a performance issue, it's a programmed item...

But here is the image you requested...

Did that work? I've not tried posting any images here before and the system asked for a url.... I gave it my local filepath...

Nope... I guess not... I'll have to look around a bit... Sorry...

How 'bout this? (I checked the link you kindly supplied)

Does your PRV open in multidock window? If it does open in the multidock window, you don't have to close it after editing.

Probably not related but, I have my "When SMPTE/MTC Time Code is detected" on the first option which is ask first.

I don't use multidock. I keep the frame hidden as well using sonar Plus...

But this issue has been long before X1... It's not new to Sonar at all.... and I too don't believe the clock switch settings are relevant either. this is not a bug... this is a decision that The Bakers made long ago regarding placement of the now time (play cursor) in "situations" and it's that decision I'm complaining about...

Instead of the 10%-90% or 20%-80% that is the current setting (pre-post event), I would prefer it tomaintain it's screen position instead of getting moved!
