EXTRA FINE NOTE EDITING IN PRV

Hello fellow wizards,

It seems X1 has lost the ability to fine edit notes in PRV.  In 8.5 I could change the start times of notes without having to snap to a grid i.e. I could change them by miniscule amounts.  I did this by entering 0 into the grid setting dialogue box.

Is there some way in X1 to work with editing notes without being limited by a grid setting like 1/16 or 1/32?

Thanks

Marvin Glenn

I use the keypad nudges. I have my nudge1 set to really low amounts.

Be aware of a bug though. You need to turn off non-destructive midi editing or you'll get phantom note glitches from nudging.

Somehow turning off "Snap to Grid" doesn't free me up.

I've read and applied the directions in the help menu under "Snap to Grid", in the Preferences I've changed all of the "nudges" to absolute time - 1000 ticks,
turned the magnetic strength off, and have the "mode" set to "move by".

When sliding a note in PRV, they still change by at least a 32nd note value.

Any more guidance would be very appreciated.

    Thank you.

If you attach a video of what you see it would help a lot. Also try the F12 key

I'm not sure about the ticks, but I've got my fine nudge set to 10ms if I remember correctly. Nudge doesn't get controlled by snap. But my snap settings are also with magnet off.

Well, Sharpdion, I thought I knew how to attach a screenprint here but I don't.  The "insert an image" requires a link (URL).  How do I do that?

Just want to move a note in as small an amount of space/time I can.  Please don't give up on me.

    Thank You!

1000 tick is approximately a 1/4 note so that may be part of the problem you are seeing .  If you want to use fine adjustments set them much smaller. I use 1, 4, and 8 ticks.  The move to/by only applies to the snap to grid function.  If you want to move it to the snap line setting turn magnetic strength to off and set to move to with the snap to grid turned on.  If you just want to do manual visual adjustments just turn off snap and drag them where ever you want the notes.

Use something like a PhotoBucket account.  It will give you a direct link to copy then use the Insert Image option.
