can we change volume to notes in piano roll?

You can use cc#7 (volume) in the controller pane.

Does the Midi track you used have a channel selected as its output? If so, what channel?

When you put the Midi channel on channel 1, can you still hear all the drums on that track? Not sure why you put the Midi track on channel 1 and CC#7 on channel 2 but it shouldn't make any difference.

If the Midi track has an output channel assigned, the CC events will always go out on that channel. If the Midi track has None selected as the channel, the CC events will act on whatever channel they were inserted as.

What channel are your drums on? Are they all on the same channel? Are different drums on different channels?

If drums are on channel 1 and track is set to channel one, drums should respond to fader on miditrack.

If it doesn't, BFD do not respond to CC#7.

CC#7 affect all notes sounding, just remember that.

Then how it's handled in Sonar when separate volume events are inserted, I'm not sure. If this is in conflict with volume envelopes I could not say.

Changing velocity in drum notes also result in change of timber. So changing stuff on midi side might not the way to go I think if that is unacceptable.

Volume+expression+velocity works together.
CC#7+CC#11+velocity decides the final volume on notes.

Since many instruments exist at the same moment on a audio drumtrack changing velocity might still be the least destructive way to go.

If note is separate and no other hits on the same spot in time, volume envelope might fix it.
