Please consider being more cordial when asking for help.

What exactly is happening? Can you post the exact steps you are taking and post exactly the error message you see? Also, what exactly is in the project that is failing?

I agree. People have been very frustrated with some aspects of sonar, but that is not the way to ask for help when we are taking our time to actually help out here. It only makes people willing to help not help.

    Please keep that in mind!

    Sorry,
Long day.  As noted, I was having odd problems today, so I looked to see if there were any updates.  I loaded the latest fix and:
    Start Sonar  OK
Dialog box to open file OK
File starts to open but program stops responding

OK, so it sounds like the crash occurs when loading a specific project. It could be that there is a specific plugin in the project causing the crash.

You can load the project in Safe Mode by holding Shift when opening the file. From there you can manually choose to load specific plugins in the project. This can help determine which plugin causes the project to crash.

Give this a try and see if you can at least get the project to load in Safe Mode (prolly want to do this and create a Safe Mode backup version of the project, anyways).

I wished it were the case but I can't open a new project either.  Same result.  I worked all day on the current project, opened, closed, etc with no (minor noted above) problems.  Can I roll back the quick fix?

    Mark,

I don't have an answer to the issue you are experiencing, but yes, you can roll back to X1b. Here's are the instructions from the QuickFix page on our site ...

    Backup & Recovery
The QuickFix installer will automatically backup your existing SONAR installation, the default location will be 'C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\SONAR VERSION\Backup\DATE\Version_Build.Number'  If for any reason you need to restore to X1b you can do so by replacing the files in your installation directory with the ones found in the Backup folder

you might find that it's not applied the update patch(s) for some reason (it used to say it was locked or along them lines) . i did in windows safe mode as admin,  and it worked / fixed that.

a number of things (inc.  none cakewalk ) seem to do that for me for some reason.

That did it.  Sorry, long day that went from furstrating to bad.  I've been using since DOS days, and this has been a little tough.  The project is 40ish tracks with ALOT of UAD 2 stuff going on.  The processor isn't getting hit hard at all but I've had to turn off the 64bit engine to make recording stable.  I should check UAD to see if they have any driver updates?

NP, I've been there and I know how it feels. UA does put out pretty frequent driver updates. And there is also a SONAR Mode, although I haven't used their stuff in ages and don't recall how all the settings affect things. It might be worth checking on their forum, though.

    The wierd stuff is:
Delete track envelope, save project, close project, open project...., envelope re-appears?
Try to select a clip envelope in a clip with both vol and pan.., I can select pan, but not vol

SONAR Mode is an option in the UAD software. I don't recall exactly what it does, but it's something to do with compatibility with SONAR. SP
