Piano Roll Snap Not Working

I'm running Sonar X1b Producer.  The snap functionality seems to be totally non-functional in the Piano Roll.  I've checked the Snap Move to/by settings, snap value, grid resolution follow snap settings, snap and nudge settings in the preferences, etc.  I'm at my wits end!  I've been a Sonar user since v4, and never had this problem before.

Any ideas?

Wait, don't I want magnetic strength turned on, in order for snapping to happen?  It is currently set to high, but nothing will snap.

Magnetic snap. Cakewalk’s snap grid has an option (on by default) called magnetic snap. This means that when you’re dragging the boundary of an object, you can move the boundary freely until the boundary gets within a certain number of ticks from the snap target. The closer the object gets to the snap target, the more strongly the object is pulled to the target. You can set the strength of magnetic snap to low, medium, high, or off. Note that if you are zoomed out a certain amount, the time boundary around the snap target will appear to be quite small, and you might think that the snap grid is not functioning. If this is the case, zoom in closer to enhance your editing experience. If you’re dragging a whole clip, magnetic snap is not in effect.

It seems weird but it has the opposite effect

Set your magnetic strength to off and snap will follow the resolution you set, I leave it set to measure ,and snap to and MS off.. I also have a key bind to enable and disable snap, and I also set a key bind for measure as its my mostly use snap setting .  And when I have a clip thats not landing on the grid  I use the snap By feature to arrange that clip..
A few mins of setting up key bindings will greatly improve your workflow, having the ability to turn snap on and off with press of a key is priceless to me. It also speeds up editing in the PRV ..   on side note: One feature I would love would be a modifier for key bindings so you can toggle through all the resolutions with only one key..

Thanks for the responses.  Magnetic snap was indeed the problem.  I've never used that before and I don't know how it got switched on by itself.  I'm seeing some other bugginess in the Piano Roll editor too... just in the past few minutes of testing with magnetic snap turned off, I encountered a problem where the piano roll wouldn't draw any of the existing notes until I closed and reopened the window, and then the "Smart" tool completely stopped functioning until I restarted Sonar.  Oh well, the price of progress I guess...
