Upgrading Guitar Rig 4 (How to Do It)
1) start up in STAND ALONE VERSION (not plug-in within Sonar)
2) purchase the upgrade you will be sent the FULL version.
2) install the full version only to find out that you still have the LE version options.
3) you must activiate with the NEW SERIAL NUMBER that came in your purchase confirmation email....regardless whether you upgraded the software or not.. you will have to ACTIVATE with a the NEW SERIAL NUMBER. NI is using 2 serial numbers... your LE serial number and the PRO FULL VERSION serial number, a bit confusing--because you will see the activated LE version, you have to bust thru that option and go ACTIVATE your new version. Thanks to all who preceded me in frustration. Click around, you have to get to ACTIVATE new product somehow, and then key in the SERIAL NUMBER that was sent in the confirm email that you received after purchasing the update.

Thanks for posting this--and note to those not familiar with the product: you may need to open GR in stand-alone, go to Service Center, then click OPTIONS to register. This path is not clear.
greenstrat, please correct me if I am not remembering correctly, but i believe this is where I got tripped up. Your point about the different serial numbers is also critical.
Hope everyone figures it out.

yes, stand-alone version.. I regret that I didn't document the process of forcing the activation on the upgrade serial number.
