Sonar Producer Trial to Sonar Studio

I'm using the Sonar X1 Producer Trial and I like it. So if and when I buy the Sonar X1 Studio edition (currently own 8.5.3) will I have to RE-download it?

Also, does the trial version already have the "a" and "b" patches? If it doesn't, will the trial version accept the patches? (Should I even bother?)

Yes, you will need to download SONAR X1 Studio after you purchase it. It also doesn't include all the patches or hotfixes but you can get those from the updates page here. Hope this information helps.

I was just looking on the Cakewalk site for trial programs but couldn't find anything.  Wanted to recommend one to a long distant collaborator friend of mine.  Where are they these days?

The X1 web trial is here: http://cakewalk.com/products/sonar/web-trial.aspx

I don't know if any of their other products have demos, but if they do there are probably links to them from the product pages themselves. That's where the X1 demo link came from.

chuckebaby - I'm not a musician so I really don't think I need Producer. I pretty much just play around with Sonar. To be truthful, even Studio is more than I need but I liked some of the extras.
