Active monitors - M-Audio or ESI or ???

I'm lookin' 8" 2-way active motitors (<500€/pair).
I noticed these two models

M-Audio Studiophile BX8a Deluxe (315€/pair) EM review
ESI NEAR08 EXPERIENCE (345€/pair) SoS review

which both came out around '07 and are still on sale ... though, maybe price has been dropped since released.

How these two models compete against present monitors lets say from Behringer, FOSTEX, Samson, Mackie, etc. (! budged)?

Any suggestions ?

    I have the M-Audio 5a's I got awhile ago from Musicians Friend for $299 and they are quite good. With the ESI's, you might want to check that a sub woofer is available if you plan to add one (they are for the M-Audios.
