A Happy Fiddle Tune
This is called St. George's Jig. I ripped it off from some of my Canadian fiddling friends. I recorded this this morning as a scratch track for my band mates to learn the tune for an up-coming concert. I hope you like it! Saint George's Jig

A nice upbeat jig, does this mean the jig is up? I can see people dancing to this.

Well, thanks, for this, as I needed 'happy' this morning, and this tune provided a needed lift. Sounds great (but when does Scotty not sound great?), and is that the bari guitar in the background? You'll have 'em up and dancing at that concert for sure.

There is not a baritone on this one. Just fiddle, normal acoustic guitar, piano, bass and V-drums. I hope to have them on their feet, but it's in a theater so.....

Hi, Scott, Wow, what a great, cheerful, upbeat song full of wonderful melody! Your playing as always, is absolutely stellar, and the mix sounds excellent. You know I almost PM'd you a couple of weekends ago. One of the museums here had a fantastic mobile touring exhibit called "The Civil War Road Show" to commemorate Pennsylvania's history throughout the Civil War. It was full of really interesting, exhibits, historical artifacts and Civil War museum pieces, but the entire soundtrack piped in throughout the exhibit, was amazing authentic Civil War era fiddle music, which was absolutely spectacular. It immediately brought to mind your great fiddle style and very special talent. I wish I could have found out who did the soundtrack music, because I know that you would have probably enjoyed and appreciated it, and you most definitely could have written and played it yourself! Anyway, really nice job on this uplifting gem, buddy! Bob

The soundtrack you heard was most likely done by my ol' pal, Jay Ungar, who wrote and performed the tuned for the civil war movie. He lives next door in NY state. I had recorded and posted "Ashokan Farewell" a few months ago, which is one of the tunes from the movie soundtrack. Here it is: http://www.vsplanet.com/mp3s/s/scottcampbellAshokanMixII.mp3

Mr. Larry, Thank ye very much. One Man Band is right. I'm so mean that nobody will play with me. Rik, Thanks! Glad you like it. Tim, Thanks for skipping along. Janet, Oh, woman of few words. LOL Thanks for checking it out. Gary, Thanks, man! I like the wood blocks too. They fit this style of music well so I break them out often. Daryl, I'm glad that I brought back some memories for you. Last I checked, my list was closer to 25,000 tunes.

Hi, Could only manage half of 'Sad Tune' this morning - just reprieved yourself with this one - whilst listening I could visualise a Benny Hill conga line. Happier now. Cheers, Vincent.
