I thought Boney M had perfected that genre in the 80's.

    Most annoying....ever?

    Ok...all together now.

It's a small world after all.  It's a small world after all. It's a small world after all.
    It's a small, small, world.

Now, try and get that out of your head in the next 10 minutes.

I worked at a roller rink for four years when I was young.  They played the Hokey Pokey once EVERY flippin' session (so up to five times per day)...

Not that I have to think about it much anymore, I've got It's a Small World going through my head now.  Thanks Katie_Katie.

I had to go grocery shopping tonight and was pleasantly surprised to have (finally) replaced that damn Small World song looping in my head with something a lot more fun.  It started when I picked up a can of asparagus and, the next thing I know, I've got the chorus "Bow before Asparapus!" running through my head.  It made me laugh and I noticed a couple of people staring at me (or were they staring before I began laughing?  I can't remember...).

It may not be scientific but it is truly Boney M.

There's a difference in the annoyance factor between a song that was written by otherwise competent musicians but so overhyped that it became annoying, and one that was written by incompetent brainless lumps.  The former might eventually become as annoying as the sound of fingernails on eyeballs.  The latter is much worse.

Some good examples of "Bad, but written by people who should have known better" have already been listed.  I could listen to those all day, rather than listen to the Shaggs.

My Pal Foot Foot is near the top of my list.

I need a good brain enema now.  I'll go get a straw.

Don't forget the Shagg's cover of the Tom T. Hall song "I Love"!

I seen people use the Shagg's music to break up a party.  Every leaves as soon as they realize that it's not a joke and you're going to play it until everyone leaves.

Their story is a fairly sad one.  You can find more here and you can listen to "My Pal Foot Foot" here:
