8.5 to X1 upgrade - can i keep my 8.5 installation too?

Hi Guys.  Well, i went ahead and bought my 8.5 producer upgrade to X1.  Will i be able to keep my 8.5 installed parallel with X1 until i'm sure my ongoing projects are compatible with X1, or will the X! upgrade replace my 8.5 installation?

Not only can you do it - you SHOULD do it!

This will be your insurance policy in case X1 screws up for you

If you have 8 and upgraded to 8.5 before jumping on board the X1 train, DO NOT DELETE 8.

I did that. This destroyed my 8.5 version, too.

I have both installed as I haven't got my head round X1 yet. It's a heap different to all the other versions. Like a Brand New Daw

I've got both installed, and it really stretches the memory trying to use 2 different sets of keybindings!

    How's your dustbin sounding Peter?

I don't use them at the same time because my dustbin can't take the strain. I think my dustbin is better as a stand alone application, especially after a curry.

My current system has 8, 8.5 and x1 on it. (Didn't want to take a chance removing anything).

It's been working with no problems at all. Handy actually for opening some older projects without switching everything for X1.
