Whats the difference between Windows "Defender" and "Security Essentials"?

Whats the difference between Windows "Defender" and "Security Essentials"?

Yesterday when I said "Defender" I was thinking "Security Essentials"... and now I am seeing there are 2 different webpages.

http://www.microsoft.com/.../defender/default.mspx

http://www.microsoft.com/...y/pc-security/mse.aspx

Can any one give me a quick run down on any differences?

Which do I want to use?

Etc.

Thanks.

best regards,
mike

Yes, the switch over was smooth as a Mississippi Mud Pie and a RC Cola on a summer afternoon.

It's off scanning for it's first time... I don't think it's gonna find nuthin... and I'm wood working on some cabinets. What could be better?
