Removing the breath intake sounds from a vocal track? Any help appreiciated new old guy

I hear the breath intake sound, is there any way to remocve these, or do I have to do the shole voice track over.  Any suggestion on condenser mic set-up would also be appreciated.....

Can you zoom in turn them all down?  That works for D'essing.  I would start with this technique first if you do not want to record over and have your effects the way you like them.

Also, overly compressed vocal tracks can bring those inhales up to the same level as the vocal.  Easing up on the compression settings can help this.  I'm sure others have some good techniques to combat the issue, these are my first thoughts.
    Good luck

A lot of manual work, I'd say. Either volume envelopes or cutting or both.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

Some people use a Noise Gate, but I prefer to draw in Clip Gain envelopes to have better control over them. It can be tedious, but the results are better I think.

Waves makes a plugin they call DeBreath, that seems to work good, you can check it out at http://www.waves.com/Content.aspx?id=315

[<font]I think it's more natural leaving them in. You usually can't hear them anyway or they are very faint.

V-Vocal in 'Dynamics' mode works for me.

Mark the "breath noise" between phrases and drag the dynamics line down. Very quick and easy IMHO.

Quickest is just to split clips at appropriate points and slip away the parts you don't want!

Yeah without a doubt, taking them out entirely is strange. Automation lets you knock 'em down several db.

depends on the music, but I like to cut them out entirely. but x1 makes it super easy to just lower the volume on them.

alt+click to make cut points around them. After you've cut them up switch to clip gain mode just drag em down. Or cut em out entirely.

what sounds good really depends on what you're doing. The izotope nectar plug debreather works fairly well as well.

This is dirknc; just to let you know I tried many of the suggestions, clip slip and V-vocal just to much work and don't the program well enough. What finally works was the easiest.  I pull back of Boost 11 to 8 impute from 10, used the Sonitux Gate;  Standard voice gate;  Imput at 35; Low Cut set at 480 Hz; High Cut @ 550 Hz; and the breath intake sound was gone;  a long lesson learned; but learned none the less.

    Thanks for everybodies help!!!

Very compressed vocals recorded with a condenser microphone can be a nightmare sometimes, I also use sonitux gate, with certain attack and release and about -24 db, but still you have to do some manual work later...

I totally agree.  I use them as part of the rhythm of the phrase, so if I blow the breath intake (out of rhythm) I'll re-record the vocal.  If they are missing from the track somehow, I'll actually re-record the breath only.  It's a very subtle thing though - and the breaths need to be at the correct volume and not overpowering.

and the most effective, slip edit and use fading on clip ends to avoid any pops-
