I was a handlin' matters WRT the passing of my stepfather.

Sad to hear, but I suspected as much.  I hope everything went as well as possible.  It can be tough--even under the best of circumstances.  Good luck with all of that. 

I thought you were the extra dwarf that the other seven didn't speak about.

I remember how complicated it was with my mom. Later when my dad passed we already had half the decisions made as a result of our choices with mom.

It was a big deal... and it's important that someone young enough to maintain attentiveness to detail makes it all happen.
