Fireface and this bug...

First, I must say the unit works well... OMG the quality difference..

So thats all fine.. TI chipset on the new FW card....

everything checks out except this one bug...

30% of the time when i enable a track input, or disable it (input monitoring) The sound drops out. dead. all I can do to remedy this, is unplug the unit, and plug it back in. sonar recognizes it and tells me it disconnected (after i unplug) and starts it back up and i have sound again. Also this happened when i pressed start and stop too quickly. just dies. everything is there but the output sound.

also I run WDM/KS drivers.. ASIO has never worked for me and does not on the FF or the Delta. distortion. I have to set the latency to at least 2 or 3ms. on 1ms, it plays the songs, but it is heavily coated with metallic computer buzzing distortion. so i turned it down to 3ms. I only had one track armed to record.

Matter of fact i got the BSOD once already changing between ASio and WDM drivers. My computer threw up...lol...

any suggestions? please and thanks

With all the RME audio interfaces, the ASIO driver works best.
Switch to ASIO driver mode... and iron out any issues from there.

well.. you may be right..i set it to ASIO again. sonar crashed...

    but...
     then i found it..

some jackhole <-----me, set the overall latency to 48 samples in the RME control panel..... noob

trying it at 128 on ASIO  and cant get it to hiccup yet. I love having the firewire power the unit too..had no idea...bonus

    thanks
