X1 Installation

Just got my X1 delivered on the front porch. Hastened to install. Installed X1, some Native Instruments stuff on the 1st DVD.
There are 3 other DVDs, nothing mentioned about them in the little Installation section in the little manual.
What's needed here? I hate to just install everything, so I'm trying to shave wirth Occam's Razor before inserting a bunch of DVDS.

Disk 2: Beatscape
Disk 3: Dimension Pro
Disk 4: Additional Content

Can anyone offer guidance as to what's needed? What's useful? What these things might, in brief, do?

    Chuck,

It really depends on your use.  If you are just going to record raw audio ala guitars and vocals, then maybe you don't need Beatscape and/or Dim Pro.  But if you want the whole soft synth experoence, put it all on and experiment!

So most of the other 3 deal with soft synth?

Yes.  The additional content may include content you may want.
Also, you can choose whther or not to install various elements such as additional synths, and audio/midi FX  during installation.  The good news is that you can always install stuff later without doing a complete re-install.

It might be good to install DP... it's a pretty darn good soft synth, and may come in handy if you need some sounds from instruments you dont play or own... sitar, organs, flutes, etc...
