[Solved: Yes!] Will there ever be a FIX or OPTION to have separate TV and PRV settings?
I want to know if there will ever be a Fix for this or are we always going to Rely on Ben's sonar plus to get us by ? I just dont understand whose genius idea was to to combine in to one. Thanks

I work with midi all the time but I find it hard to believe anyone on this forum except for a cake employee knows the answer to your question hence no replys. My guess though X1C in august.

I'd be fairly amazed if this doesn't get fixed in X1c. While some folks have learned workarounds I don't know of anyone who actually thinks it's an enhancement. And most ( I believe) think it's downright dimwitted to have removed it. We'll see.

This is actually my only significantly disliked new feature of X1. I can't think of a single scenario where having the same snap settings for track view and piano view is a benefit rather than a hindrance.

And, while I applaud your optimism that it will be included in X1c, I'm very pessimistic because I've noticed that CW has avoided any mention of it. stickman393 Right-click on the Piano Roll tab in the multi-dock, and select "UnDock". You should be able to move the PRV around separately from the TV/Multidock window. The OP is referring to the global snap for notes in the PRV and TV (CW removed the ability to have separate snap settings in each view in X1), not the docking/movement of the two views.

Have you filed a formal bug for it? Unless you've filed a bug, there really is no right to complain about it not getting fixed. That said, yeah it's silly to have to rely on Sonar Plus, but I'm really thankful we have people like Ben who are doing it, because without it, X1 midi would be pretty unbearable.

It's not a bug, it's a "workflow enhancement" and it sucks, plain and simply. And, yes, I've filed requests to have it reverted to separate snap settings, as have numerous others. Unfortunately, it seems to be falling on deaf ears.

yes i sent them q request to have them be separate. i just wanted to know if others are annoyed by this too. Thank god for Ben for making a workaround but its like every every update that comes out we need to wait for Ben to come up with a fix.

I think Cake have finally realized it was a step backwards. At first it they stuck to the "simplicity, enhancement" angle but I think the tide has finally turned on that. Most people download SONAR Plus for the single reason of having control returned to them for these settings. But they did add a way to toggle this already didn't they? Or was it a keybinding for TO/BY?

I'm pleased to say that SONAR X1c will allow you to have separate snap values for the PRV and TV. ...and please everyone... I'm putting this out there as I know a lot of people want this capability - and you might as well know it's coming for peace of mind. But please don't use this as an expectation that I (or any other Cakewalk staff member) can or will respond to every demand for further information. We do what we can, but full details on X1c are still forthcoming. For now I can simply confirm that X1c supports separate snap values.
