Z3ta - update

I trust everyone here has heard that Cake is releasing Z3TA 2?  Yes, it is true.

    Really?!!!!

Z3ta is the one thing I miss the most on my Mac based portable rig.  I so wish they'd release a AU version... Though I doubt they will.

    Rain,

there is an announcement in the news section, I believe.  Anyway, Cake sent an email out - if you didn't get it there is a thread in the SONAR X1 section.  I didn't look for an AU release, but the other new Cake synths are mac-compatible, one would hope Z3TA is too.

Yup. Saw the announcement on their site afterwards and then the other thread. - But I read it here first. :)

I've been on the road for almost 2 months now and not a day/session goes by without me wishing I had it with me. It really was my go-to synth. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Just for those who don't check the X1 Forum, Z 2 ain't for the mac.  I guess the underlying code was too PC, unlike DimPro and Rapture.

info is nice, but hearing it and perhaps demo'ing it is the decider for me..

I'd like a demo IN the special price "early adopters" period and not month(s) after to be honest..

e.g. PSP I get to test drive their stuff before buying and more , so I'd like cake to do the same

It will be interesting to see how much is different and how much it is.  A "new synth"  or just a few changes to the old one.  Like Merlin says in Boorman's Excaliber "that the cookie is like the future.  You won't know until you take a bite, then its too late."

    You're welcome, Pokeyoats.  Where's Gumby?

Cake hasn't given a time, but I can't imagine it would be too long if they are announcing it.

I'm originally from Australia and the train ticket collectors in Melbourne used to wear all green, so we'd call them "Gumbys"!! :)

I'm hoping it's soon, I'm excited aobut it! I love hte Z3TA+ but it's buggy and crashy, a stable new version will be dreamy for the music I like to make!!

If you're on Mac and love Z3ta just as much as I do, you might want to check this link.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-WqGgh6PE0

I was looking for solutions to run Windows VSTi's on Mac and the first thing I stumbled upon was this video of a guy running Z3ta on Parallel Desktop and recording the audio back in OSX/Live.

Not as easy as inserting a softsynth in Sonar, but probably not harder than running Pro Audio alongside GigaSampler back in the days. ;)
